Use a handgrip to hold the item, especially if its small, you can get the type used for model making that has 2 crocodile clips and a magnifying glass, and before Steve says anything ,no i dont use it for any other purpose only models, okay

I have ID'd a bit recovered from the site, purely by accident !

I was looking on the web for a picture of an old 303 blank (early 1900s) and was getting frustrated as I couldn't find one. I was opening up various web pages when I accidentally clicked on a Boys AT link. This was the picture I dragged up....

Note the attachment plate for the rear of the LE.

I was sure I had seen something like that before, and went into the garage to have a dig through my bucket of stuff from this dump, that I either already had good examples of, or was not yet IDd so hadn't been cleaned.

After a few minutes rooting about I was about to come to the conclusion that I had imagined it.

    But I hadn't. I found the little bugger !!!

Good spot Steve, these are very rare items. So rare that I know some have guessed dimensions and made them, them selves. I cant even be sure there are any originals left.

OH GAWD, dont tell him that M3, we'll never hear the last of it, he's going to be digging like a mole now looking for all the other bits, there'll be no stopping him, the site will become even more of a rabbit warren and I'll be afraid to even walk around it in case i fall down another of his mine shaft sized holes

Thanks Guys Great to know they are rare.....shame it's rusted to hell and back.

With the ground covered in snow Dave, I can guarantee that I won't need to dig a hole for you to fall down. You'll fall in one within 30seconds of turning up, and I'll be there with my video camera......
