Default Cap badges - help with ID please

    Hi all

A very nice chap on a metal detecting forum that I am a member of very kindly sent me the below badges. He is not interested in WW2 but, knowing I am, sent them to me instead of turning them in for scrap.

One I don't need help on, but the other two I am a bit stumped on. Help please !

First one is straightforward......Royal Engineers King's Crown. Very nice

This one I first thought could be a Police badge perhaps, and maybe not military but now I am not so sure. Certainly it is the Royal Crest......but what is it ?

Last one is nautical, but again I can't find a match. Is it Naval or just a curio badge. It may not even be a badge, with the loop at the top making it look like it hung from a ribbon or something similar.

    Thanks for your help

The second one I believe is a Victorian Royal Engineers badge but is missing the bottom scroll
Correction, its a General Service brass cap badge, they look similar but i now think your one did'nt have a scroll

The Anchor "award" is'nt one i can find anywhere, but believe it or not it is similar to a Russian faberge NAVAL CUFFLINK set and if it was could be worth thousands , sorry stig

General service list for the 2nd, as Dave posted in his correction. The third looks to be a buckle and could be from a Naval dirk belt set. Not really my thing, naval that is, so I can't be certain.

    Whatever its just an opinion.

    Thanks guys.

I am not sure the naval thing is a buckle although I do see what you mean. It is made of very thin pressed brass and would survive no time at all if it was a buckle. Still leaning towards a badge/medal of some sort.

If anything it could be some form of trade award

The first is indeed George V era Royal Engineers, and I believe
Dave is right about No. 2.........

The Naval thing looks to me like a watch fob that's missing it's strap...

The second badge can't be Victorian as it has a king's crown. It's a generic Royal Arms cap badge, commonly called a general service cap badge, as corrected by Dave and confirmed by Jerry

I don't think the anchor badge is naval, at least I'm not aware of such a thing being worn in the RN. Definitely not from a sword belt.
