Hi Versuch and welcome to the forum !

There is a sticky thread on this very subject to be found here... https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/firea...amps-5718.html

The two .50 cals you have are both American (U = Utah Ordnance Plant, SL = St Louis Ordnance Plant) and the numbers both denote the year 1943. Only the long gone bullet tips will tell you what 'type' they were.

The other one you have is actually German 7.92mm standard cartridge widely used in both rifles and MGs. The P = Polte Armaturen-u, Machinenfabrik, Sachsen. The S* means it is a brass case. The 65 is the batch number and the 34 is the year of manufacture (1934).

    Hope that helps

Thats fantastic Steve, I felt sure the smaller cartridge
was going to be American....you just never know.
The detonated round was set off by the many scub fires
    they have up north.
    Many thanks
    Mike
