    That was an awesome read!!!!!!!!!I'm glad somebody brought this thread back to life. That is fantastic to be able to put a name with a relic found on the beaches of Normandy.

    I will keep the story of this barrels alive .
    I have stared to write down the story of them to make sure them do not get lost to history.
    Plus the forum is also a good way for that.

    I was told about a week ago that soil samples can be taken from the location where I found them and soil from the barrels.
    To prove that they were really found there.
    Great news for me.

    Wonderful to here that possibility
    I know there was only one MG42 at WN62.
    Also one Mg34 the barrels are not the same yours are MG42.
    I be live those were his ,great threat chris.
