d-day Point du hoc Grenade rack

This German grenade rack was found at the point du hoc in 1984 at the entrance of the bunker with the Ranger monument on it.Back in 1984 the entrance of this bunker was full of soil,with the comming of President Reagan for the 40th anniversary the soil was removed and stair were put-in.The rack was one of 5 items recovered from the soil no US items were found.

Very nice! What goes into the two slots up top of it?

I think you need some stick grenades to fill it up!

I think the two slots were for the clips.
Maybe one day for the grenades.

Super nice Chris. Great history behind it too. I'm glad it's in such good shape. Thanks for showing. How old were you in 1984 my friend? Did you dig it out with your plastic beach bucket and shovel?

I was 14 years old.
I did used a real shovel you would have loved it.

LOL! Unfortunately, I was chasing something else when I was 14, and it wasn't old military relics. You lived a charmed childhood, I wish that I could have been digging right next to you back then, you have great things to show for you hard work.
