True, but when push comes to shove and you have other stuff to carry such as paperwork, letters home for the company, personal documents etc then any portable storage device could come in handy. All i'm saying is that until a box is opened you never know what could be inside.

Wonderful finds! The exciting of opening an ammo box for the first time in 65+ years must be quite something, apart from what you would expect to find (ammo) there is always the chance of something else such as personal effects etc.

Gold! I know a guy who found some gold in an old gas mask canister

Many gas mask containers containers we find are full of extra ammunition especially on MG and infantry positions , happiness is superior Forepower !!
