    The sign - weel and wings, it's mostly related with the railroad service - I believe. I saw the german signs for collar tabs of rail road service and it was the same.

    Interesting - how do you think a Sten magazine got there?

    (I think that is what is stuck in the tree, correct? - I have one here and it has that same semi circle cut out, but there are also a lot more eagle eyed cats on this forum.)

    I haven't seen a DT machinegun magazine dug up before, yours even has the little wings still in place - and yes, usually mounted inside a tank - how cool to find!!!!!!!
