What happened to the two with missing tips, cant have snapped as it looks like a clean break, i have seen others like this too.

Dont know,they was like it when they came out from the ground..maybe they broke when soldiers opened cans of some sort?

possibly, they look identical maybe someone knows,
like i say there is seperate forum for k98`s if you can read any serial numbers you will find who made them and where well worth a look.

Great looking lid, inka! I have one from Kurland myself that displays just that same grey almost concrete-like substance on the inside of the shell... but, just like yours, nothing anywhere else. Either way, lots of paint still on there as well, thanks for sharing!
