Mate ~ I have travelled and lived and worked in every Australian state and territory bar Tasmania ~ including WA ~ And this area will do me ~ Utopia IMO

And yes~ it is a totally contradiction from your area of Kalgoorlie and the Atherton Tablelands ~

Plus to boot we have a massive Metal detecting potential/s as you well realise of course ~

Just like Inka's stomping ground ~ seems beautiful country.

After several weeks of just enjoying the incredible weather we`ve had up North ,spent time with visits from friends and Family I was finally back out in the forest yesterday. Not with a detector just the camera as it was way too warm to do any digging anyway. On one of the sites I went to there must have been several bears just moments before , and when I realized it every shadowy bush became a bear in my mind so I noisily withdrew back home to the hammock Made a couple of Write ups later on the afternoon which you can read here if you want --->

A little more normal temperatures today so Im having a kettle of panzer-coffee and heading out to a patch of forest not far away where it was a disposal area for a small german air-strip..and if there is no metal to dig there I ll pick some blueberries

I would be VERY Happy with the four items alone ` Dog tag, the buttons, the bottle and not to forget the berries ~

Of course the canteen would be a bonus to !

The canteen was quite rusted and the bottom of it was gone,so I left it behind I have a new way of collecting,,piles of rust in the forest

A fellow MD fossicker has donated a spill of .50 calibre rounds to my collection. These are intact and never been buried in the ground. So a nice addition to my collection too!
