It is better not having bodies in them!!! Just a trip for photographs and not metal detecting as this would violate the rules of war grave memorials. I would love to see those photos if your time ever permits!
Well i wish you then not to find planes but and old rusty and perfect Panzer! I would not be picky on the model. Just one German made with a big canon preferable a Tiger!!

What kind of planes are those, Inka? So far I've visited wreck sites of a JU-52 See (1./KGr.zbV 108), HE 111 (KG 26) and another HE 111 (Wetterkundungsstaffel Wekusta 5). I was also present when they raised the Fw 200C-3/U4 Condor (KG 40) --- unfortunately that one went SPLAT right down on the barge below... There's still a lot more plane crash sites in the near vicinity that I plan on visiting.

I think the one closest to me is a Ju transport plane, and there should be a bomber and a fighter somewhere in the mountains as well. Will find some info about it

A panzer yes,now that would be a great thing to find

The title being 'Kurland Diggers' and not 'Kurland racēji' was my first clue...

    Hi Inka,

Here is the jacket you found, now with a very light restoration - basically restitching and patch on the big tear.
It is too delicate to clean, and I don't mind the dirt. It has no smell whatsoever.
I like it - the Ppsh41 is too clean for the display really, I should get a more beat up stock for it.

Anyway, thank you again - safe digging, my friend.

    Pit.
