    I cleaned some dirt off the boxes and carefully tried to open them. On one of the boxes the lock pin was very rusted and broke when I was cleaning the soil of from it, but I got both boxes open and as I had suspected they contained ice cleats for horseshoes. A little bonus was a pocket knife with bakelite grips

    The first light of day they've seen in 70 years beneath the ground! Amazing!

    (at Least they weren't containing booby traps and wired hand grenades! )

    I was out again yesterday looking for more panzerfausts, but didnt find any this time. I did find a drinking cup from a canteen with initials engraved,a cigarette case and a cooking pan with lid which I never seen before..

    Its been years since it rained as much as this summer, it have kept me by the workbench where I have been keeping busy with some plastic and paints. I made a 1/48 scale T34-85. The base is a shell shrapnel found in Kurland this spring. Hope you like it,,and, it is reported to be sun this weekend and if so I have a few spots lined up for some metal detecting
