    Can anyone tell me what these things I found today are? I think it is something for horses or mules to carry stuff..

    Today it was reburial of the fallen soldiers we exhumed the weekend 16-18 October in Latvia. R.I.P

    Hi Inka,

    It's the frame part of what looks like a Gerbirgsjager pack saddle. These were often used to carry heavy equipment such as mountain guns, heavy machine guns, radios, ammunition, medical supplies etc., etc. Here's a similar example that give you an idea of what they looked like. They are many and varied and are a hobby on their own in my opinion!!

    Didnt find anything much on todays search. A few small items to bring home only. The temperature have dropped 4 degrees since last night,to 0.9 degree celsius, not a moment to loose.I hope I can dig again tomorrow

    That Nikon is stil working well there mate.. excellent photos again !

    Mine died ~ I detested the thing anyway ~ They paid warranty on the thing ! But I took the op to upgrade to the next model ~ and I LUV the upgraded Nikon '7000' a whole different World ~ LOL

    Ahh SO IT IS TRUE ~

    You blokes ship tem creatures to the southern equator for our Summer ~

    We already getting what we call "Ankle biters' on the march every day at dusk and after ~ nasty little &^((&*^'s !!!

    Plus these litte &^&* are renowned for passing insidious tropical diseases ~
