Found some American and German ammunition around the Eifel around some trench positions this
included a live 60 mm mortar round and live american grenade minus the fuze. The bullet head is from a 30 cal round the black head indicates AP. The wodds around this area are still full of ordnance.

BE BLOODY CAREFUL MATE , these are dangerous enough just issued, so 70 on they are very unstable, make sure you have all limbs on your way home
Fair point the grenade and mortar had ben dug up before which is a fairly common occurence I normally report the grid and location of UXO but many other relic hunters are not so responsible. The woods are often visited by specialiist UXO teams especially when they are logging

Be careful mate. Those mortar rounds are prone to going off if you LOOK at them funny. And as for the nade........they go off just as you think you'll walk away and leave it alone !

    Interesting finds, albeit bloody dangerous.

That 30cal you have.....looks like it has only recently come away from it's casing. The lack of tarnish on the jacket at the bottom indicates this has been kept away from the elements. I find an awful lot of 303 and 30 cal spent bullets and none have kept their shine anything like the one you have
