Its a brilliant place to explore Rob, so much to see and so many battles in and around the area. I just walked the woods and forests ( no metal detector ) and found stuff just the end of last year hence I`m off again in March !

You may have seen this site Rob but if you haven`t check out the following. Type "Pictures in summertime Verdun" into Google and hit the telia.com site. A group of guys who explored lots of Verdun and took loads of pictures of what they found. Remember these pics are 10 yrs old now and I tried some of the places they went and didn`t see as much but is is still there if you look hard enough. I suppose its the same as anything, if you know exactly where to go it makes a big difference.
If anyone would like to share any good Verdun and area hunting sites please let me know !
Here you see a M13 Kugelgranate I found near Verdun. I have many stuff from there, but I have everything in boxes at this moment.
The other photograph I take just over the border in Belgium, the plaquettes are new, I didn't see these before.
Great finds Appie, thanks for the pics.
Rob and whomever else wants to go,
I definately want to go explore the battlefields of the Western Front. Lets try to all plan a trip shall we? I'm serious!
I'd love to work something out something like that....finding the money to go (along with my wife who loves to travel) might prove to be a bit more of a challenge!
