An entire Century has passed-100 years! And Still there are bones lying on the ground in the open air...amazing. Some great photos!
(I like the sign that says "Steep Path"....from the looks of the path, they weren't exaggerating!)

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post so many excellent photographs.

    Suvla Bay

    In an old Australian homestead
With the roses around the door
    A girl received a letter
    Just newly from the war
With her mother's arms around her
She gave way to sobs and sighs
And as she read the letter
The tears fell from her eyes
    Why does she weep?
    Why does she sigh?
Her loves asleep so far away
He played his part that August day
And left her heart on Suvla Bay.

    Thanks guys!!
I really don't know how the ANZAC's climbed the cliffs let alone dug in.
From up on the ridges I can see how easy it would've been to snipe at the men.
And to drop shells on the beach from the cup, over next to lone pine.
    Total blood bath!!
I can tell you it would've been hell on earth.
After 100 years there is still a lot on the surface.
I found some shattered bones on the beach about 6cm long. Arm or Leg, not sure.
I buried them in the closest grave yard, sorry no photos.
Really wish I had more time to myself to explore.....
Pink Farm would be a good place to visit.
3000 English men killed in one attack as the Turks over ran their position down from Chunuk Bair.
They had just relieved the Kiwis.
After the war when we came back to bury the dead they found all those bodies 6 deep in the gullies.
And up and around Chunuk Bair and Lone Pine.
Bodies everywhere, My Great great uncle one of them.
K.I.A at Chunuk Bair, body never found. Left in the open from 6th August 1915.
    Bones mixed with other bones.
