Here is the contents of some ammo pouches found about 5 metres from some K98 pouches which I found about 4 years ago.

The ammo was sandwiched together in 5 round clips in bunches of 3 clips. Unfortunately the clips crumbled when I took them out of the ground

The finds were from a section of woods on the German/Dutch border

At least the cases are brass. I found a shed load of MG42 cartridges with 'belt' still attached a few years back. Trouble was the cartridges were late war and lacquered steel......they fell to bits as i took the mud from around them
