It's looks like a 1878 type german dog tag. By the colour it would be an early one,which were made of german silver or aluminum. Later ones made of zinc.Not sure on F.A.R.,will try and let you know. I've added a photo of a late zinc type.

F.A.R.15 would be 1st upper Alsatian feld artillerie regt. 15. formed= saarburg in 1871,
part of 21st corps. Hope this helps?
