Very interesting Pavel , i think this will be a rare badge to find

I see that Valera has also been causing problems by not filling the holes in on the fields

If only he could learn to dig to find things but recever the fallen also !!!!

Are you going out again before we come over in October ?

Great news from Sinimae. At last we found a soldier which we could to identify. He had a medal for the defence of Leningrad and the order of Glory, III class. Number 45323. He Lied on the Grenadiers hill, on the east part, near the german trench. He was killed very quikly (K98 bullet near the heart) so quik that still had a RG-42 grenade in his hand. The body was whole exept lower parts of a foots an face was broken.
Medals were on the pocket of a gimnastjorka. Also he had a wallet, bakelite capsule for a death papers (russian dogtag) but empty, two aluminium soldiers spoons, pencil, blades for a shaving, stone for a knife, Scissor, mirror made from a gasmask glass.

Schennikov Vasiliy Efimovich, was born in 1911 y. in Kalinin (Tver). He was at war from 28.06.41. He was a private from 5 battery of 184 mortar regiment. His order of Glory he had for the april battle for the strongpoint Putki. It's a Narva front also, village located to the south from Sirgala. At that battle he killed 9 enemy soldiers and destroyed a bunker. He got a Glory order for this episode.
Officially he was KIA 27.08.44 and was burried in mass grave near Auvere village.
But we found him in another place and not burried. Also I think that he was killed 25 or 26 but definitely not 27, when all Hill allready was in soviet hands. And it looks like he fighted like usual rifleman not a artillerist.

Good preservation of his medals and it's really interesting to be able to gather some history on him and where he won his medals
