...for this new habit! Within about 30 miles of my home are over 30 WW2 airbases and today I visited one close by and found these items. There's a nice bunch on Window and some .303s. The switch is marked Ref no 5C/543 and I have no idea what the arrow is for - it looks hand cut. Any ideas?

Btw, my nearest base has been covered in a new 'fertiliser' by the local farmer made from domestic waste. With all the foil etc. in it the metal detector is useless!

    Pffff....he ain't THAT famous !

Nice batch of 'window' and good selection of 303s.

As for the switch, using my years of experience and keen eye for detail, I would hazard a guess that it is probably an ON/OFF switch for something.

    Do I win a prize ?????

5C/543 used in just about every British aircraft.

A short one and a long one!
