Hello everybody. I hope everyone doing fine. I would like to share with you a piece that was found on a place close to Grammos mountain complex in northen Greece. First a little introduction for Grammos and it's history, as it should be less known to the majority of you (i guess).
Τhe Greek Civil War was fought in Greece from 1946 to 1949 between the Greek government army—backed by the United Kingdom and the United States—and the Democratic Army of Greece (DSE)—the military branch of the Greek Communist Party (KKE). It is considered as the first proxy war of the Cold War. The fighting resulted in the defeat of the DSE by the Hellenic Army. Founded by the Communist Party of Greece and supported by neighboring and newly founded Socialist States such as Yugoslavia, Albania and Bulgaria, the Democratic Army of Greece included many personnel who had fought as partisans against German and Italian occupation forces during the Second World War of 1939–1945.
The last tough battles of the two sides took part at the rocky mountains of Northen Greece, on the borders with Albania. The biggest battles were fought on the mountain complex of Grammos, were both sides used war material from WW2 of all the armies. In one of my visits to these places, the following "tube" was found stuck in the ground. I believe that it's a part of some kind US rocket ( kind of air to ground airplane rocket), as both USAF and Greek Royal Air Force operated at these places (using rockets and napalm bombs for the very first time in global history).
I would like your help to identify these two pieces that were found there. Both have in common some encoches in their hard metal body, which i believe were to attach the steering ailettes. Any opinions are welcome and would be very helpful, as the US militaria is not in my field of knowledge. Thank you in advance.

As you can see, two different pieces were found. After the cleaning of the small, exploded piece, two markings were revealed. One ''Z'' , that i guess stands for the exlpoding substance that was used and a ''16'' (?) in a circle. The bigger piece has not been cleaned yet...
