An interesting few finds from a Victorian rifle range

Article about: so they don't re-detect them next time. I do the same with modern trash and shotgun shells. Dig them out then bury them all in one spot.

    Thanks Steve,i'll share the site info with you when i get a minute.Thats my first base nut, dated 41,not a great pic but that on the left is a spring,are they quite commonly found with fragments,or are they usually destroyed?

    The springs are rarer because they tend to corrode away to nothing most of the time. The other parts are alloy and so don't corrode, that's why you find so many of them and so few springs.
