I'm not sure but is it legal to use metal detector there? Anyway, be careful.

Great idea, but as mentioned I think you'll find its a no no. If caught you could lose the detector and even the car your using if you drive yourself there.... I was told this by someone lives there when I suggested a similar trip. I guess there's enough unexploded ordnance there to restart the war and people digging it up all over the place is not what the authorities are after.

I'm sure it is illegal, from what I hear the Belgians do not take it lightly.

The last time I was there the stuff was everywhere, you just had to pick it up.
Go in the woods you will see it.
I have relic hunted for the pass 33 years and used a metal detector 2 times.

Metal detecting in the Ardennes is illegal and we cannot condone it on this forum so i suggest you do not break the law !!

Ok, I didn't know that metal detecting in the Ardennes was illegal but now I say that I won't do it. I don't want absolutely to break the law !

David please ignore this advice as it is incorrect both Germany and the Netherlands have restrictions on Metal detecting if they didn't it would be a free for all and we would all be over there , the best thing to do is to make some enquiries about the laws in any country or check in here first,

    cheers
