These are a lot bigger, and a lot nastier looking that I originally thought they look like something from when knights went about in shining armour on horseback weilding swords

"Nice" set there mate.
I always thought that they were a LOT smaller than these though. You wouldnt want to be advancing to contact in close cover and come under fire only to go to ground straight on top of these buggers!!

Well you are right they were more focus to hurt the horses than the soldiers.But it still work to hurt what ever came in contact with it.the American model was smaller.

Yes they do, one of my friend was hunting with those green plastic water boots and step on one of those and it got it in his foot.
