Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

5th day
A visit to the border Estonia-Russia. A magnificent area with awesome view. Just a bridge is separating the 2 countries.
You will understand the area better with the following pictures.
Everywhere memorials from WWII

Our intention was to go for digging again but the weather was rainy at the forest thus it spoiled our plans.
So we stayed longer at the area of the castle.
On the Estonian side the Hermannsburg castle is found whilst on the opposite Russian side, the Ivangorod fortress.
The Hermannsburg was founded in 1256 by the Danes and the first stone castle was built in the beginning of the 14th century. The German Livonian Teutonic knights order purchased the castle on 29 August, 1346, and for most of its history the castle was German Teutonic.

Some pictures from the surrounding area of the Hermannsburg castle. Look how close is the Ivangorod fortress.
More photos tomorrow, showing the interior of the Hermannsburg.
