I bought these 3 great looking relic GABs a while ago from WAF.
They were all unissued pieces that somehow ended underground, the seller (who also dug them up) found them in fortress Breslau back in the 80's.
They are all in zinc, so i'm really worried about zincpest ruining them futher (which has already started)

Should i give them a vaseline bath (have seen some great results of it), or would that damage the relic?
also, could anyone ID the makers? I'd love to buy a mint one of each someday to show them off as a set

    Cheers,
    Tjebbe

I would use vasline and keep them in a low humidity environment.

    EDIT:

Or you could leave them as is.

I would wait for more advice, I think it would be better to leave as is.

you're right, it's probably better to get some more advice first. I'm afriad to leave them as is because i've seen what damage zincpest can do, but then again, i can't be sure ifit actually helps on these

Vaseline will do a lot more good than harm!..

Looks like residue from the paper packets they were in. ......... maybe boil them in lime juice or a baking soda solution for a few minutes to see how they go?
