Question Re: new airfield dump found

Has anyone tried to find the dumps at Attelbridge? It was an RAF bas which was taken over by the 8thAF 466th Heavy bomber squadron flying B-24s. A very big base with many many missions. I would think there might be quite a lot still around.

Attlebridge is an interesting site. Whilst I've not dug it myself, reviewing Google earth shows that many of the key areas are quite readily identifiable, including the bomb/ammo storage area and main tech area. It looks like it is being used as a poultry farm now, judging by the large number of long huts dotted around the site. Given time, I could probably ID the communal areas as well, which are always packed with finds

    Hi Cornishboy

The rubber seal is from an RAF aircraft coolant system joint. Can't narrow it down to a specific aircraft i'm afraid.
