Hello - Im living in Belgium and have been metal detecting since 2007. I started as a method to locate troop positions from the 1914 battle of Mons. Wince then Ive branches out to spend most time on Marlborough's battlebfields here in Belgium and the 1815 campaign.

Detecting is great in Belgium - however the soils here in central Belgium and in the south can be awfully harsh on finds. Still ive had some good luck. This is a find from yesterday - in the Waterloo area.

Its British and while Im far from certain, I believe it to be either from a shako or helmet (cord rest?) or a sword belt. New Member in BelgiumNew Member in Belgium

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

This is actually German. It is a belt ramp support from the back of a tunic. I have one in my collection. Here it is.

    Cheers, Ade.

Hello my friend and welcome to the forum , that is a very nice find! I am sure you already know , but always be careful about the various laws that have been passed in respect to the protection of "battlefields" and historic sites , I would hate for you to get arrested!! Good hunting my friend and thanks for showing this. Leon.
