Hello - Im living in Belgium and have been metal detecting since 2007. I started as a method to locate troop positions from the 1914 battle of Mons. Wince then Ive branches out to spend most time on Marlborough's battlebfields here in Belgium and the 1815 campaign.
Detecting is great in Belgium - however the soils here in central Belgium and in the south can be awfully harsh on finds. Still ive had some good luck. This is a find from yesterday - in the Waterloo area.
Its British and while Im far from certain, I believe it to be either from a shako or helmet (cord rest?) or a sword belt.
