Nice '17 rifle. Amazing that the tangent sight is still preserved.

It was recovered from a river in Meuse Argonne ,I belive this was a captured rifle because of the stock being broken off and the trigger being bent.
I know of 2 other weapon being found around the same location Colt 45 and a chauchat both of them were in very good condition .

The Chauchat you can keep (brrrrrrrrrrrr, horrible thing!), but the .45 I would like to see
I fully understand, if you dont have pics, as it doesnt sound like its in your possesion.
For some reason, I cant remember seeing many Colt relics......

I do not have any pictures of them ,they were pick-up by 2 different person.
I have seen 2 other relic colt 45 boths from ww1 battlefield ,I have not seen one pick-up from a ww2 battlefield.

Right, it sounded like you didnt pick them up.
Too bad. A 1911 wouldnt have been to shabby, but then you cant complain with all the stuff you got

Finding any type of pistol is very hard ,I was never lucky to be able to.
I have friends in Europe who have been doing this longer than me and still have not found one.
The reason it is so hard is because the GIs pick them up.

I just found out that the small brown bottle is a ww2 US military beer bottle.

If anyone could tell me what the other brown bottle is that would be great.

I love the 7,5cm KwK42/StuK42 crate- nice shape and there can't be a lot of those around...
