Relics from Arnhem

Article about: Hi Guys, over the past 14 years I have been visiting Arnhem at least once a year, sometimes more than that. The battle is a particular interest of mine as you might have guessed. These are a

    Hello everybody. I know its illegal to use a metal detector in Holland but can one just look for relics without one? What are the rules on digging in a forest? Thanks.

    Are Holland, well Captain Stevenson Sir, that really take me back

    All those drop zone RED Lights, and that funny sound of the "lesser spotted beeper bird" not to forget the field repairs of two jeeps, one Ford and Willys. Plus losing "the generals" leather rifle scabbard having jst been given it.

    Here's a quick release box found on the Polish DZ "K" Driel ..
    .. Note that it has NOT been opened .... !!!
    Possibly from one of the casualties killed in the air during the drop !

    Fantastic peices of history, and well worth saving, never been to Arnhem but going to go soon.
    As for the Simpsons Bunker site on the A7 near Groningen, i have seen this many times and wondered what it was, next time a diversion is called for.

    Hi, That Picture of the reenactors is in Wolfheze! I remember one crazy night I lay along the top of it and half sleeping at around 6 in the morning....Lol.. Small world realy a small world...

    Hi im new to this site and loving this thread as my father came from the arnhem area .As a kid i use to love his stories about what it was like growing up with all off this happening around him. Im lookin forward to visting this aera one day.

    wow great stuff i wanna go there one day , I think this operation is so amazing (not historicaly true) but love A Bridge Too Far .
    my home town Croydon is twinned with Arnhem too.
