The start of the day, can you spot the rifle butt in situ, sadly the the victorian teapot was beyond saving.

Bayonet handles, I had to take a hammer to them to remove the crud because it was hard to see their shape.

Nice collection of items. Love the Sten stock. Unfortunately, the only weapon-related items I saw came out of other people's holes. However, if its oil bottles and glass bottles you want...........

Anyway, a great day out nevertheless and thanks to Steve for organising it.

    Hi guys

great day - hard work and too damned hot but a good day nonetheless - thanks for organising Steve

Finds not stupendous but happy - plenty of gas mask filters and eye pieces, a nice Browning starter tab, a few nice bottles and toothpaste tins/tube, plus , courtesy of Jay (cheers mate ), a nice brass Lee Enfield butt plate and a bayonet frog.

I'll post some pics of some when cleaned up as the starter tab and butt plate are soaking in vinegar

    cheers
    Matt

Best find of the day for me was this 1907 pattern bayonet, (No. 1 end in the shot so you get an idea of the size of this beast). A bit eaten through at one end but still perfectly straight and.....

Steve, I would suggest that the pull through being as it looks a bit short for a rifle (the patch slot is visible) that it's for a pistol?

    S&W and Webly Pistol Parts

Edit: Might want to check out Sten cleaning rods as well, they're the only other short barrelled weapon I can suggest.
