Hi Dm, I have a Vickers MMG upstairs and I can confirm the oil brushes are from them, I found one marked the same as the one on my gun "RN".

    Cheers, Ade.

I wonder if its worth me doing some photos of British/yank small arms so they can be made stickys for IDing parts etc. I can do pretty much all except the Enfield M1917/P14 rifle.

YAY, someome finally ID'd those things. Catches of 1917A1 Ammo chests. Wow. those things are everywhere... I have a pile of about 20 here. I was putting them in Daves bucket and left loads in the end as I was sick to death of seeing them. Nice one M3

No wonder the bucket was so heavy, the crafty perisher was weighing it down with those things

ok, I have been cleaning more bits... many duplicates that chewed up time. Like those .30 cal ammo catches that I was stock piling. A couple fell to bits upon cleaning but its not like there in short supply. A couple of odd bits I have no idea what they are off. There is a top, just like the tops of the old petrol cans, but its got a hole in the top that looked like it had a hose from it, is this something to do with the Vickers steam pipe?

Also I have put the bottom plug on a chain found there and attached it all to a waterchest. Found a few nice pics of these in use if anyone is interested. I have become fascinated by these.

Nice work. Still not had time to touch my stuff yet.

It is not off a Vickers steam pipe to the best of my knowledge.

    Cheers, Ade.

Some nice bits there DM I've still got a bucket of stuff to clean, mainly a load of those ammo crate catches. I think when you put them in Dave's bucket, he transferred them to mine !! I must have 30 of the blasted things !

1954 dated. I like the way it's deliberately been bent for disposal
