I found just one drill 303 round which is in there, see if you can spot it
Yes its next to a bit that got me excited, its the metal bit of a Garand or BAR sling!

Your boot is a football boot. It has the two leather studs on the heel and if you examin the sole i expect that you will see small nail holes where the studs should have been. I had a pair of boots like this in the 1950. John.

Whitehunter - Yes. It's out of a spares box. Linkie below.

    http://www.vickersmachinegun.org.uk/acc-spares.htm

    Elliott - No problems

    LUCKYSTRIKE - Living up to your name again I see !!! Some of the more 'unique' bits I can see in the picture are as follows (I'll not ID everything I can as I know you know what most bits are anyway !!);

    Close up picture 1

Bottom left are two Vickers cleaning tins.

    Close up picture 2

Bottom middle-ish is a Vickers rear 'spike' long range sight. Very nice indeed. You should find it is 'toothed'.

Just above the No.1 MkIII barrel end is, what looks like, a BESA trigger mechanism.

Above this looks like part of the handle from a Sten (mk 1) loading tool

    Close up picture 3

To the left of the oil bottles is what's left of a 100rnd Bren mag winding handle.

To the left of your inspectors round is a starter 'cartridge' for a 100 rnd Bren mag.

    Close up picture 4

Nice to see you found two No.4 barrel ends. One has a nice long piece of barrel

Top right I think you may have a Vickers small parts tin from the spares box.

Of greatest interest however, is the bakelite item next to the water can. It looks remarkably like a drum magazine but, as yet, I can't think where I've seen it before !!! Cn we have some close ups of it please

    Cheers

I've had a look Dave. It isn't. I've tried googling 'Bakelite drum magazines' and 'Bakelite snail magazines' but still haven't found anything. We need a close up photo really.

The rod with a ring on the end appears to be a Vickers Zero Post.

Some nice bits Dan. Is that a NAAFI crest on that piece of cutlery handle ?

You have 3 Vickers tripod bits, and the brass thingy that looks like a trigger guard is the inside bit off a Mk 1 Sten mag loader.
