Could this be the Canadian version of the water can for the Vickers
It was for drinking water,i think it was late ww1 and inter war.
Thanks Bryn
Sorry I havent been able to reply sooner guys, I've been away for a week clambering all over WW1 and WW2 era coastal defences in Yorkshire
This is an absolutely fantastic thread though, well done to the guys to everyone that was involved, and those who have helped to ID the finds I'm jealous that I couldnt have been there, but I'll keep living in hope that the RAF site I'm searching comes up with something....maybe not on the same scale as this though
Thanks and I cannot wait to see what comes out of the ground next
Danny
Can anyone tell me what the item is, bottom left pic, small jar thing, has VARTA 300k and two '+' on it?
Also bottom right pic, two similar items, one with four bits on it (two each side) and one plain? and the big brass top with the crows foot on it? What are they off?
Middle right pic, whats the little plug type thing? It looks like it should be a cocking handle of something like a Sten, but really I haven't a clue...
but to make you laugh, the random item in the middle left photo is... anyone know... brass thing on a wooden stick.
