Can anyone tell me what the item is, bottom left pic, small jar thing, has VARTA 300k and two '+' on it?
It must be an old valve or battery type thing, Varta still make batteries etc.

Middle right pic, whats the little plug type thing? It looks like it should be a cocking handle of something like a Sten, but really I haven't a clue...
Its a Sten Cocking handle Mk5 (Broken)

but to make you laugh, the random item in the middle left photo is... anyone know... brass thing on a wooden stick.
    Is it a brush?

The Butt plate you mentioned is from a Long Lee Enfied or CLLE depending on its mod state.

Cool, thanks for Id'in the cocking handle. I hoped thats what it was.

Also, as know body got it and I'm quite disappointed as I know most of you will have used my 'random' item... Its a the top of a pool cue... the brass bit is for those nasty cheap screw-on type tips. Great huh!

The first pool table introduced into Britain was in a pub in Wolverhampton in the early seventies, before that there was only billiards and snooker, the tips for these cues were mainly made from leather compressed in layers, there were however screw tips introduced into billiard cues in the 50s, by the famous Peradon cue Co, so i would think it came from a billiard table

The same style of threaded brass ferrule was used on the wooden Bren MkI cleaning rods...

I'd be careful if I were you as otherwise your billiard cue tip/Bren cleaning rod is liable to turn into a suppository.

WH - Those Sten mags have come up really nice. What did you use ?
