Looks odd to just see things laying around like that. Gives me a strange feeling that the battle never really ended.
Are these items that must be left as found? I would think all that would be picked through by now.
    Thanks for sharing your trip.

Brilliant photos! I would love to visit these places, must be a strange feeling just to see this gear lying around the ground like that after all these years.

Awesome stuff. Interesting that the large calibre shells don't appear to have any rifling marks on the drive bands. Would indicate they hadn't been fired.

Incredible photos Paul, thanks for showing. Wish I could get there one day. If you keep punking me with photos like this, it's gonna happen! Everytime I see photos like this it reminds me of the book, "The Forgotten Soldier".

Did You visited Sõrve (Sworbe)? If yes, it was a closed territory from 1944 till 1991 and in Soviet times it was not so easy to dig out WWII relics. It was even hard to get a licence to drive to Saaremaa during summer holidays. So no wonder all this stuff is still there. As I see many live ammo on the pictures I just hope You reported to the police or that You do not live in Estonia. You do not see such pictures for at least 2-3 last years in Estonian forums any more because people have got some years in prison for "hiding" explosives and ammo - if You do not report to the police and just leave shells where they were last 70 years You are a criminal according to Estonian laws.

But still, welcome to Estonia. Just take Ryanair and You can vistit our battlefields in the same day. But no pics of the live ammo, please:-).
