Hi Horst,
that is a nice item i like the markings on them, the only pieces of shrapnel i have is a bomb fragment. this came from my home town in london, but was in my brother small collection until he passed away in 08. It is about half inch thick and some very sharp edges.

Hi Horst, great pieces of history you have there. I find it interesting that the piece on the left has the usual Nazi eagle with the waffenampt, but the piece on the right has the Weimar eagle which was only used until 1935.

Very cool- bits of a ZtZS/30 I should imagine since it was the most common by far.(could be any German Flak time fuse of course)

i found alot of schrapnel.. It's quite thick.
everytime i go back i find new pieces of schapnel..

Thick splinters suggest heavier-calibre HE shells; the wall of an 8,8cm Sprgr. L/4,5 , for example, is around 15mm and even a bit more in some places such as near the base. Much nastier than actual shrapnel balls- the little lead balls in Henry Shrapnel's shell from WWI- not that those would be any fun either to be sure. Given how much even just antiaircraft fire there was throughout the war, there must be kilotons of steel splinters in the ground of Europe...
