some 8th airforce dump finds 9/1/11

On Sunday i went back to one of my dumps i hadnt been to for ages and started digging out a 2mx2m sq and 2foot deep whole in a new area just to see what was there and it looks like that dump is going to be much bigger than i thort.
First up is a d-4 flight computer (missing the pin that holds it together)
Next is whats left of a A-9 oxygen mask there is some wrighting on it but its hard to get a good photo. Just like most things i find it's been burnt but im still happy with it.
Next up is a really nice piece of plexi glass from the nose of a B17. I will try and find a good photo of where i think it came from on the aircraft.
And last is some more plexi glass that came from the same place as the nice piece so maybe its part of the nose to.

This is the pic of the nose i was looking for. im sure that the plexi-glass is from the outside of the teardrop in the middle of the nose.

Hi Andy,

For someone who only a few days ago claimed that their luck had run out .... some bloody impressive finds ... The D-4 looks almost mint!! I'll be off to our other dump on Saturday ... will I find anything to match these finds .... ?

Hi Gremlin,

I definitely had my lucky pants on on Sunday. The D-4 is a cracker but my favorite find is the plexi-glass. It is to wet to go to work today so i might go back if the rain eases off.
Im sure you will find something impressive. You normaly do!!
