75-3686: Installation, Camera Finder Door and Camera Doors.
This appears to be the same as Part 75-3686-17 (Camera Finder Door), which is fitted just forward of the main camera doors, beneath the radio room.
All the best,

Thanks Paul thats great. So is the picture of Mary Alice iv posted correct for this? Or was it positioned underneath the aircraft more?
Andy.
Well done with the clean up mate
The camera doors and your viewfinder port door are aft of the bomb bay.
I'll try to find a decent photo that shows the position.
Bear in mind when using "Mary Alice" for references that she is a very late-model B-17G, and the various ports, doors and vents etc. around the nose hatch are quite different to the majority of Gs that saw combat.
All the best,
PB
Paul,
If you could dig me out a photo that would be great. I didnt know that about "Mary Alice" Im allways useing it for referece. Its not suppriseing that i can never find what im looking for.
John,

Andy

What method did you use to clean your findings?
Here we go:
Your viewfinder door is arrowed in red, the main strike camera doors are arrowed blue. All doors are seen in the open position.
All the best,
PB
Thanks Paul thats great!!
John,
I soaked everything in a bucket of water over night (apart from the oxy-mask) Then thismorning i set about the oxygen bottle with a soft sponge to get the lose crud off then some very fine wire wool to get the odd bit of tuff stain off.
Same with the hatch and the strange remove before use plate.
The oxygen mask was abit more hit and miss. I started off buy putting it in nearly boiling water to supple it up abit and make it more tolerant to being played around with then i washed it in washing up liquid in really hot water giveing it a really good rub with my fingers and that was about it.
The flex-feed and plexi-glass were allready quit good so just a soak and a rub.
The water bottle was a twat the soil had kind of rusted itself to the bottle and so i just soaked it and the attacked it with wire wool.
Andy
Forgot to post the flexi-feed.
Andy
Oh now that is GORGEOUS !
