Any one know what this is? Im hopeing its part of the top turret controlls but i cant find a picture for a ref. Sadly it has no markings. But it could just be off an angle grinder of something.

    Thanks for any help. Andy

Very nice! Definately turret control, similar here for the chin turret on a B17. There is space for the trigger and the switch on the side is a 'dead man' safety.

    Thanks Ian,

Iv found another piece in my back garden. It wasnt found at the same time but did come from the same dump so most likely from the same chin turret.

Next up is a nicely marked piece of cast. It has the numbers 6-8145-2 stamped on it and allso has a big fat B for BOEING. I hope it shows in the photos.

Thanks Paul, Its lucky i found the fragment with the part number on it!

Just out of interest were the rudder pedals made of steel or aly? If they were steel i think i know where there is one.

    Hi,
Was wondering if anyone can identify this item found at USAAF dump this year? It appears to be a thumb operated push button switch made from a bakelite material. It has a counterbored mounting hole through it suggesting it bolts to the side of something. There are no markings visible.
    Thanks.

I'm a post behind but this looks like your second bit of grip. Top turret B25 but also B17 I think. http://www.b25.net/images/topturretcontrols.JPG
