Hi Seb, you are correct from an He111: the serial number is that of the actual aircraft. I am sure this could be researched. I don't know what the actual box is used for.

    Cheers, Ade.

Maybe it was for tools or some spare parts?

Hi Seb, is there an "FL" number on the box, this would reveal what it was used for, if the parts list can be found?

    Cheers, Ade.

I cant find anything on that work number yet, found a few numbers close so I am sure its a valid number. got a few more places to try. Was that from a crash or found with other aircraft items? ie; old airfield? I assume there is nothing in the box?

The numbers on the lid suggest it might be a panel cover for a circuit breaker box. Just a guess.
