You remember, my friend dug up a bunker in the steel safe with documents, Wound badge...
My friend madea picture of burnt paper. This proves that in this bunker were soldiers of 517 Regiment, 295 Infantry Division.

Looks like the HQ of the Regimental Staff of the IR 517 !!

License plate after cleaning and dog tag ...
    Werkst.Zg.bodenst.557
This is Stationary repair platoon 557 Infantry Division.
I don't know the history of this unit. Maybe my friend Matt will tell us more ...

More pictures fragments of newspapers and maps ...
Excellent finds Andrey !!! Most likley that Werkst.Zg.bodenst.557 was an independant workshop unit . A Major wouldn't be in command of a Werkstatt Zug so probably again this is a place of Regimental or Btl HQ.

Yeah, I agree with you. Major and zug is not compatible.
We can only guess, military units often changed their disposition and there were could be anyone ...
For me important that all items were found in one place ...

Another day, we dug a large bunker next to the "burning bunker".
Look at the photos, it was a cruel joke ...

    Hello Vegar,
Every item I clean different ways.
The main way: my hands and water
Sometimes I use different acids (oxalic acid, phosphoric acid, acetic acid, citric acid, Trilon-B = Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid disodium salt).
I can not tell you everything, maybe I need to open a a new big topic. But I have not time and I have not good knowledge of English.
