    Looks like a 3. Schutz ersatz btl. 55(3rd.protection replacement or reserve battalion no. 55) ID or dog tags in english

    The Schutz on this tag means "Rifle" , 3 Kompanie Rifle replacement Battalion 55

    Last week I was on a business trip in Kotelnikovo. This is the place where von Manstein began an offensive on Stalingrad. Operation "Winter Storm"

    Alas, I had little time to walk with metal detector
