I have a friend who goes to Stalingrad every summer for a month to dig for relics with friends/family who live there. These two items are some of the things that I got him to part with. The Panzer Assualt Badge was found near Pitomnik Airfield. It has a small circular makers mark in the upper left had corner (see Photo) but I can't make it out due to corrosion. The belt buckle was dug in the southern part of the "Kessel" in the positions of the 297 Infantry Div. It is marked K & N which I tried to show in the pics.

    Tks for looking, Bob.

Spectacular relics Bob. Your buckle is in fantastic relic condition. Oh the stories they could tell. The largest portion of my collection is from the Eastern Front. I love getting anything verified to be dug in the east. I have included some of my dirt encrusted stuff from near the airfield that is among some of my most prized. Not nearly as nice as your things. In this case, beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder. Thanks for sharing!

    Hi Jay:
Thank you for your nice comments on the Stalingrad relics. Yes,
Eastern Front relics are my favorite also. I'm mainly a 98k collector
but I also like dug relics. Like you said, "if only they could talk!". I'm
working on a deal with my friend for some more Stalingrad relics. I
may have them this coming weekend. I will post them as soon as
    I get them.
    Tks,
    Bob

Hi guys, for the future, be careful. Pay attention for the Badges made of zinc on the surface which is corrosion. Because the corrosion of zinc is irreversible, and after several years the Badges completely rot.
