Very amazing whats still hiding out there. The ammount of things like this they find every year is shocking being forgotten all these years. Im glad to hear these boys will get a proper burial and if identified, their families can finally have some answers about their long lost loved ones...

The turret of this tank flew away to the side after the explosion. Specialists think so. But other people have the idea that the tank was destroyed after the hydraulic shock, which occurred in the explosion of ammunition in the tank. This could make the engineers after the war for the output metal scrap.

Now body the tank is located in the city of Volgograd (Stalingrad), near the museum.

My camera is still broken and I can not show my pictures. I'll try to make my photos in the future, but for now I'll show pictures from other people ...

Some of the "Big Boss" wants to restore the tank, and others want to keep tank without any changes. There is an idea not to restore the tank to keep as a monument confirms that there have been very heavy fighting in Stalingrad.

If I visited the museum I'd like to see it in its current condition, because it is totally unique no other T34's will be the same. But if it's restored, then it'll just become yet another restored T34 of which there are hundreds all over the place. A restoration on this Tank will destroy its history, thats how I feel.
Thanks for posting this thread its been a pleasure following the story.

Surely the tank must be saved in this condition, also the damage in the wheels area says that the tank is a really take a part in a hard battlles, probably that shot was one of the last shots...

Fantastic thread Sebastien, exactly what this forum is all about. Thank you so much for showing. I hope they leave it as is. The flowers in memorium of the crew is an encouraging sign that these long lost warriors are remembered and bequested the respect they deserve.

I agree with Dimas and Luckystrike it must remain as it is as a monument to the crew and the loss of life at Stalingrad and along the Chir front.
