    Thanks William!

I scored great with the lady, She collects, studies, and does reenactments! I think they should start a Militaria dating website!

SteveR actually originally helped me buy this buckle. I can't thank him enough for the advice!
The only thing i've noticed about this buckle is that the patina is light.
Almost flaky if you would scratch hard at it. Maybe someone tried to touch it up with some sanding or something?
    Maybe I'm just paranoid again...

    Thanks again!
The patina is just exactly what you would expect to see front and back on a dug brass and lead relic.

If there had been any recent sanding done to it, you'd notice right away.
Though I think it has been rubbed or wiped off at one time, don't do
anything to it - it's fine. Any further attempts at cleaning would
harm the patina, and likely it's value.........!

I'm sorry about the photo taking skills the afternoon. I used my new "smart phone" camera... damn thing wouldn't focus!

Being from North Dakota, "The War between the States" probablly was over before anyone up here heard about it.

    "The War is Over!!"
"Woah... you're telling me we have had 16 Presidents now?"

New Pics and one of the only relics in ND!
"War is over!" Good one - funny!
Good new pics of your buckle too. Now I want one! Actually, I would like both the US and a CS buckle.
So its called a Puppy Paw buckle - who would have 'thunk' it! I learn somehting new every day here.
I really like your ND relic car too. I wonder what it was in a previous incarnation..
You hit a nerve (I hesitate to say fetisch, so lets call it a hobby); I cant pass a relic car in weeds without taking a pic
Here is a relic in AR:

And you are right: Infantry all the way!

That nice old full size pick-up truck could be restored amazingly well - it looks
to be complete, and not damaged much at all.

Shame to see it rusting away.........!
    Regards,

    Steve.

    Agree 100% on all points.
In fact, my first thought on seeing it was "I wonder what he will take for that ... "

I would go for restoring that truck! People will pay big bucks for something like that fully done up.
