    All

Back in 2005, I was flying cargo runs as a C130 pilot for the US Air Force Reserve from HI to Wake Island. We would arrive about noon and have the rest of the day to explore. While snorkling near the suken stone bridge I found the items in the pictures. Any info about them would be great. I know the plates are Pan American, but thats it.

Are they 50cal in the back there? They will have a date! Did they come from the same place?

50 Cal casings I picked up off the beach. There was lots of them on the beach as well as the bottom of the lagoon. The markings are SL 42, any ideas Also, I picked up this wood piece from an American made bunker. I'm thinking it was used to hold 5 inch shells or somthing. I will post pictures from my trip when I find the disc.

The plates look like Pan American Airlines. They used to use Wake island as a refueling point for their flying boats. They used to call them Clippers. This was before the war.

Like the plates very unusual, in fact I really like them!

The marking on the casing is SL for is the St Louis Ordnance Plant and 42 the date obviously 1942 in this case

I really like the plates and the coke bottle. Flying was high class stuff back then.
