Just heard on radio that they are stepping up punishments for collectors nighthawking & metal detecting in OXFORDSHIRE & other counties to the east of britain due to loss of historical artifacts! Apparently stripping the UK of its history! Heavy fines and prison sentences being handed out.
Please get permission from land owners before searching for relics!

I don't think they are bothered just about WW2 stuff it is about historical items that are from our dim and distant history , Roman, Saxon etc etc

Correct Paul, Why dont they just say anyone finds anything then please report it but you can keep it if you have land owners permission. Then its documented and alls well! Gready bloody goverment thinks we are taking all the treasures!
