Hello,
I learned that they are burying 54 unidentified ones 18th May in Lappeenranta, that's Finnish Remembrance Day in each May 3rd Sunday. Identified ones have been or will be buried in their hometown cemeteries.
Thanks for sharing the pics.
Welcome home, boys...

keep up the good work .

Werry good work and nice pics!
On one picture is seen a thick piece of armor, with a firing hole and also broken. What is it? Part of vehicle or bunker?
It is this one:

Looks too thick to be a gun shield or sniper shield, so it is maybe part of tank or bunker?
WOW-can use the L-26 magazines in good condishion
Good to see MIAs being returned home. Great work guys!
One thing that did grab my attention was the grenade - I have never seen a stick grenade like this one, only diagrams in books, etc. :
I can't quite decide if it is a "gebalite Lathing" or an AP mine... Whatever it is, it is an interesting and unusual (to me!) find.
Incidentally, what happens to the ordnance that is found? Are the unusual items made safe and the rest destroyed, or does it all go up in one big bang?
Thanks for posting.
Depends of the search groups, some are just looking for a soldiers remains and then the items like ordinance will go to the big bang. But I know personally the guys who deactivate them at the place ( because it's a very dangerous to move that kind of stuff over the city etc.) where they found it. The grenade shown is wide use in the first days of war.
