    Default ww1 relic part from rifle or pistol ?

    Can anyone tell me what this came from Rifle ,pistol other.
    It was found in a ww1 battlefield.

    It is a trigger group assembly from a rifle.

    Is that a magazine port just ahead of the triggerguard...........?

    I think it is a US M1 Carbine - the safety and magazine
    release look to be in the right positions, and the
    trigger guard is the correct shape..........

    Thank you guys for the info,That makes it 4 items that I found in Meuse Argonne that are from ww2 a Garand rifle a german helmet liner dated 1937 and a canteen.
