Big Ned - Now you mention it, the farmer was putting ramps into the derelict buildings and a stair lift to the top floor of the control tower.

Australian guy - Yep.....not only going to need a new room but a whole new HOUSE soon ! Unfortunately though, due to the current economic meltdown, all metals and ores have to be retained in the country where you found them, just in case we run out of natural resources and the government cuts down everyones railings again.

If it flips left and right I think it is the switch that operates the tubular light to light up the Rear diff of a vehicle or trailor in blackout conditions. The dif or attached plate were painted white. John.

Hi Steve, the tea ration tins (I collect Brit ration tins) are excellent and this style is hard to find.

Hi Luckystrike, great to meet up and chat again That book is actually one of my favourites. I can highly recommend it too.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Thanks blackpowder .... good info

Ade - Wow ! Didn't know that. I thought the ration tins would be two-a-penny.

Blackpowder - Thanks for photos but the switch I have appears to be alot smaller than the ones in your picture (roughly half the size).

    Hi Steve,

Your "wing mirror" looks very like an external vehicle tax disc holder.
I had one fitted to my Bedford QL that was almost identical.

    All the best,
    PB

    Hello Steve,
The find under your pic of the wing mirror looks to me like a transit plug for a bomb or artillery piece. The fuze would have been put in place of this at the last moment? Please note, this is only a guess, I have no experience of these but I'm sure one of our specialists will identify it for you.
Always interested in your finds, keep on digging!
    Best regards,
    navyman.

    Hi Steve,
From looking at all the finds you have accumulated I'm sure you can dig up anything?
    All best,
    Guy.
